Wicked Pearl-Flakes are water-based effect paints with reflective pearl flakes suspended in a transparent base. They create sparkling, shimmering and colour-shifting effects for custom graphics, models, artwork, automotive projects and more.
What Are Pearl-Flake Paints?
Unlike standard pearl or metallic paints, Wicked Pearl-Flakes add a reflective effect over the colour underneath. Their transparent base allows light to interact with the pearl particles, creating extra depth and sparkle.
A black or dark base makes the reflective effect particularly noticeable. Alternatively, use Pearl-Flakes over colour-matched bases or mix them with other Createx colours to create custom effects.
The range includes Hot Rod Sparkle, Cosmic Sparkle, Hi-Lite Interference and Flair. Hot Rod Sparkle uses larger flakes for a coarser effect, while Cosmic Sparkle creates a finer finish. Hi-Lite colours add a subtle pearlescent glow, while Flair colours create dramatic colour-shifting effects.
For improved flake orientation, Createx recommends mixing Pearl-Flakes 1:1 with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear. Then reduce as required with Createx 4011 or 4021 Reducer.
Finish with a suitable gloss clear coat to bring out the full depth and brilliance of the pearl effect.
