The Vallejo True Metallic Metal Light series builds upon the Base tones with bright, luminous metallic highlight colours designed to lift and accent direct light, delivering a vivid, reflective finish across miniatures and models.

These are lighter, more luminous versions of the Base colours, created to achieve intermediate highlights and smooth gradients.

Featuring ultra-fine metallic pigments, the Light paints allow seamless transitions and soft blends when applying highlights and reflective zones. The high-shine surface preserves the material richness of metal surfaces without the graininess typical of older metallic lines.

Using the Light tones involves more than simply adding a brighter metallic paint: they are part of the True Metallic Metal (TMM) workflow, which uses real metallic pigments rather than simulated flat tones. This technique requires attention to light, shadow, and volume to create realistic reflections and shine.

Application: For brush application only—ideal for edge highlights, reflective spots, and the brightest areas in a metallic workflow.
