Mud naturally builds up when vehicles travel across wet roads, muddy tracks and rough terrain. The colours in this bundle make it easy to recreate those effects. They’re ideal for adding realistic weathering to tanks, military vehicles, railway models, construction equipment and fantasy miniatures.

Vallejo manufactures each Splash Mud effect using natural pigments and water-based acrylic resins. The realistic textured formula dries to a subtle satin finish. As a result, it closely replicates the appearance of fresh, damp mud.

Applying the effects is straightforward. Use a brush to stipple, splatter or build up textured layers wherever mud would naturally collect. For even more realistic splash effects, load a stiff brush with Vallejo Splash Mud. Then direct a gentle stream of air from your airbrush across the bristles and towards the model. This creates natural-looking mud spatters similar to those thrown up by moving vehicles. Alternatively, use a stiff brush or even a stick to apply heavier mud deposits exactly where you want them.
