Wicked Pearls & Metallics are water-based airbrush paints designed to create shimmering, reflective and metallic finishes. Suitable for models, custom graphics, artwork, automotive projects and more, they combine striking visual effects with the versatility of the Wicked Colors range.
What Are Pearl and Metallic Paints?
Pearl paints contain fine reflective particles that interact with light to create a shimmering finish with added depth. As the viewing angle and lighting change, the pearl effect becomes more noticeable.
Metallic paints use reflective particles to create the appearance of a metal surface. The Wicked range includes a wide choice of metallic colours, together with specialist aluminium finishes for realistic metal effects.
Wicked Pearls & Metallics spray semi-opaque straight from the bottle and work particularly well with a 0.5mm airbrush tip or larger. However, they can be reduced with Createx 4011 or 4021 Reducer for increased transparency and use with smaller tip sizes.
The colour underneath can also influence the finished effect. For example, Wicked Aluminium and silver colours benefit from a suitable silver base, while some pearl and metallic colours can be applied over different base colours to create varying results.
For maximum depth and brilliance, finish with a suitable gloss clear coat.
