Unleash Environmental Realism
We offer a versatile selection of Vallejo Pigments, a range specially designed to help you represent realistic effects of rust, accumulated dust, and dirt from the most diverse environments. From dried mud carried by rain to oil stains, the possibilities are as broad as your ideas, and their versatility sets no limits to your creativity.
Originating from iron oxides and natural earths, these are high-quality pigments, meticulously processed to facilitate various forms of application. You’ll find a palette of various shades of earth and dust, ranging from more humid environments to the alkaline tones of very dry landscapes. We also include references to represent general dirt and wear, shadows, and operational effects of machinery or engines. By the way, in the range, you will find a truly unique pigment: Dark Steel, a high-purity graphite that will transform anything it touches into realistic metal!
Application Methods:
- Dry Application: Use them dry by gently rubbing the surface of your model with one of our brushes.
- Fixing Pigments: Apply pigments dry to the model, then fix them afterwards by adding a few drops of Vallejo Airbrush Thinner.
- Wet Mixtures: Mix pigments with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner to create mixtures of varying density, achieving realistic effects of dust or dried mud on wheels or tank tracks.
- Creating Volume & Transitions: For volume and interesting transitions, mix pigments with Vallejo Pigment Binder. This product dries slowly to facilitate blending effects, accumulations, or changes in shade by mixing various references.
