True Metallic Metal (TMM) is a technique that represents authentic metallic surfaces using paints containing real metal pigments, rather than simulating the effect with flat tones as in Non-Metallic Metal (NMM). This approach produces natural reflections and a convincing metallic appearance while retaining the material depth of real metal on miniatures.
Painting with TMM, however, goes beyond simply applying metallic paint—it involves understanding light, shadow, and volume, and working with careful blends and contrast to enhance realism and definition.
